DiaCarta LLC is leading the path of research and development for applications of molecular diagnostics with novel reagents and devices.
DiaCarta specializes in advanced development of biomarkers, bioassays, and biological radiation dosage measurement tools that can be used to provide a rapid point-of-care estimate of tissue damage after a nuclear or radiological event. Our QuantiDNA™ assay system (U.S Patent No. 12/392,989) can detect DNA directly from a finger-stick blood draw allowing for quantitative estimates of exposed radiation dose within hours of the exposure. We believe this approach to biodosimetry will outperform other technologies in this class for mass casualty scenarios, including a nuclear detonation, fallout exposure or detonation of a radiation dispersal device 'dirty bomb'.
In addition, DiaCarta is developing novel diagnostic reagents and
devices to meet the testing needs for infectious diseases and medical
pathogens in laboratory and POC environments. Our QuantiVirus™ Detection
Kits, in clinical testing, are the most reliable detection tools currently
available to directly measure viral RNAs or DNAs in biological specimens.
They are expected to be particularly effective for early detection
of infectious diseases, such as oncogenic HPV infections in pap smears.
We have a number of products under development including test strips,
96 well plate based detection kits for other infectious diseases,
and portable luminometers. DiaCarta's platform is powered by Affymetrix
and Siemens'bDNA technology.
Headquartered in Foster City, California, DiaCarta is working diligently to bring potential novel molecular diagnostic products through clinical development and regulatory approvals.
DiaCarta LLC is committed to discovering new technologies and new
ways to manage women's health through molecular diagnostics. Our people
are driven by a constant goal: to advance medical science and help
people live healthier lives.
