A novel HIV QuantiVirus™ system: used in a Resource-Limited Point-of-Care Setting

DiaCarta is develoing a simple to use, rapid, point-of-care (POC) HIV diagnostic system, HIV QuantiVirus™ system, that utilizes state-of-art QuantiGene 2.0 technology to quantitatively detect the HIV viral load in any biological samples with sensitivity of about 45 input HIV copies (< 200 requested in this RFP) within 2 hours.  All procedures are performed in resource-limited POC setting without pipetting, centrifuges or vortexes. The assay is carried out in 8 well strips with portable, battery-powered and inexpensive devices. The end-user can be trained within 2 hr to master the system.

QuantiGlucose™ system: used in a Resource-Limited Point-of-Care Setting

DiaCarta  is engaged in rapid point-of-care diagnostic tests used at bedside, physician’s office or home.  The test system contains a test strip and a handheld meter using a drop of blood from fingertip, and will give a test result in less than one minute.  Our product hemoglobin tests used in physician’s office and blood centers is currently sold in the United States and China.  In addition, our blood glucose test system (QuantiGlucose™) for the diabetics in  the process to get Chinese FDA approval. DiaCarta had developed proprietary technology to laminate membrane layers of different reagents together, able to have more complicate test sequences in a simple strip format than glucose test.   Thus DiaCarta can make more complicate ALT(Alanine Aminotransferase test for liver disease) and Hemoglobin A1c (screening test for diabetes and long term management for diabetics)  tests in the near future.

Our manufacturing technology is also unique, in which we design an add-on process to manufacture each test strip more precisely therefore better quality and the process can be scaled up anytime according to actual needs.
