We have an exciting opportunity for a Site Services Manager / Materials Controller to join our growing team to develop the site services activities for DiaCarta to include facilities, inventory movements, office management, shipping, purchasing to ensure high quality operations. To be successful you must be a self-starter and have the drive to manage multiple activities with internal and external customers. The position mainly works from senior manager’s guidelines and predetermined goals and receives minimal supervision on routine assignments. The role receives limited guidance on projects and special tasks with transactions given on new assignments and work goals / objective reviewed on a regular basis. This is a full-time role in Richmond and you will be reporting into Operations Management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilities / office organisation and ensuring a welcoming environment for all visitors and employees. Ensuring facilities are run with high level of integrity, quality and cost effectiveness
  • Inventory / warehouse organisation and ensuring stock accuracy
  • Organize shipments and receiving of products, ensuring correct paperwork, product integrity, shipping regulations & customer follow-up, appropriate distribution notification, storage, data accuracy and tractability
  • Work with other departments to plan, monitor material movements & demand requirements. Monitor WIP to maintain required work schedule and maintain dialogue with production groups
  • Ensure all movements of materials around the work centres and into FGI are accompanied by the relevant computer / system transactions. Maintain established safety stock levels
  • Monitor all customer orders for DiaCarta, adding sales / work orders and communicating with other departments
  • Ensure purchase and schedule deliveries of quality raw materials in the most cost-effective manner into the site and to comply with manufacturing times. Provision of information regarding movement of these materials to appropriate groups
  • Develop and maintain a vendor base that meets DiaCarta standards of quality, delivery and value. Participate with other individuals / groups for vendor selection input, as well as contract negotiations to ensure on time deliveries
  • To place and facilitate the administration of purchase orders and the receipt of certain goods through the system and accounts
  • Maintain system reconciliation of inventory numbers via cycle counting and transaction log reviews
  • Maintain data accuracy for data system by continuously reviewing MRP and other parameters, inventory reports, work orders, due dates, and purchase orders
  • Provide accurate information to accounting group for cost standards and variance control analysis for purchase parts
  • Responsible for ensuring, supporting and complying with Company’s safety and waste management program, including following safe waste handling and good housekeeping
  • Improves training and understanding of quality concepts as they apply to all work performed, services offered, communications and products
  • Performs other job-related duties and projects as appropriate when assigned by the manager, including working in other sections / areas

Education, Knowledge & Skills Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent in Business / Purchasing / Science subjects or equivalent. An equivalent demonstrated and developed knowledge in industry may be considered as an alternative
  • Minimum of 3 – 5 years’ experience in facilities management, delivering site services, warehouse organisation, inventory control, shipping and receiving. Understanding and use of computerized transactions
  • Computer knowledge of inventory movement, work orders, kiting and MRP. Understanding of parts and manufacturing requirements
  • Strong interpersonal, motivational, communication and organisational skills. ‘Get–up and Go’ attitude to completing and ensuring the completion of all tasks
  • ERP experience desirable
  • Requires the use of office equipment, including operating a computer terminal
  • Must work well in fast paced team environment
  • Careful and meticulous natures with strong attention to detail are essential
  • Should be well organised, proactive and self-motivated with a ‘can-do attitude’
  • Must possess good communication (written and verbal) and IT skills (MS Office)
